Hi'
I have been restoring my rear springs and found some numbers/letters stamped on the bottom leaf. does anyone know what they mean. They are 48 1A784 11-C-63. There is also a very trade mark stamp as well. Just curious Very Happy

Second number should be 21A784

Make and model of car might bring forward some responses. Some car manufacturers did stamp their springs and some also bought in springs from specialist makers- they would sometime have identification numbers stamped on to one or more leaves.

If you Google that part number under images, it comes up with parts pdf's for Austin 7..... see here:

They are attached to a 1930's Wolsely hornet rear axle so I am assuming they are wolsely stampings
