Hi Ray
It would be interesting to know how many of those were "real" false rumours put about by Europhobes/Eurosceptics etc and how many were just media April 1st gags.

I tend to discount most of the anti EU stories and I've been a Brexiteer ever since the original referendum after Heath took us in without asking permission first.

Unless it pertains specifically to the old-vehicle movement, the forum isn't geared towards discussing general political topics, especially the EU. Let's keep this a politics-free zone, there's enough of that on TV and radio to last a lifetime!!

Thanks, RJ

I am not surprised that there is so much anti E.U. sentiment about. It seems that many people have a feeling that the E.U. is meddling to an unacceptable degree in our hobby, but when asked directly they are unable to pinpoint any specific examples.

One reason may be that the FBHVC have been successful in heading off any inappropriate legislation and the cross party of MPs which has our interests at heart may have ensured that nothing too onerous gets passed through the Commons.

I can only hypothesise but there has undoubtedly been a lot of "fake news" to coin a phrase. Here is a (rather long) list of Euro Myths.

Thank heavens I don't live anywhere near Europe, Ray

Quite So. Brexit is a complete mess. What impact it will all have on our hobby, goodness only knows. If the powers that be sign up to the "Withdrawal agreement" poor old Blighty will become a colony of the E.U. ....ironic??
