---------------------

NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR THE NATIONAL CAR CLUB AWARDS, IN ASSOCIATION WITH TOURISM IRELAND.

The nominations for the 2019 National Car Club Awards, in association with Tourism Ireland, are now open with eleven awards eligible for clubs and fellow members to put their organisation and hard-working individuals forward for a prestigious accolade.

Founded in 2016, these awards celebrate the UK classic car clubs, which are the heart and soul of the classic motoring community, and the people that are the backbone, constantly working to attract new members and offering unwavering support to fellow owners.

A total of 18 awards will be presented, with the remaining seven trophies awarded to clubs exhibiting at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with Discovery, by the panel of Judges. All the winners will be revealed at a glittering Awards Dinner on Saturday 23 March 2019, held at Birmingham’s NEC once the show closes for the day.

Supported by Classic Car Weekly and endorsed by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC), the 2019 judging panel includes David Boyce from main sponsor Tourism Ireland and David Whale from FBHVC.

Panel Chairman Lee Masters of organisers Clarion Events said: “In just three years, the National Car Club Awards have grown into a highlight of the classic car calendar, celebrating the achievements of classic car devotees who go above and beyond to put their club and chosen marques in the spotlight. We are thrilled that the National Car Club Awards recognises these heroes of the classic motoring community.”

Award categories available for nominations include the National Car Club ‘Young Member’ of the Year, the Best Car Club Contribution to Charity, Outstanding Club Initiative to encourage the Next Generation, Unsung Hero and Ambassador of the Year.

Meanwhile, the categories awarded at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with Discovery, include Best Live Demonstration and Best Live Working, Best Restored Car, Best Club Stand (two awards dependent on stand size) and Best Car in Show.

The nomination process is open until Wednesday 23rd January 2019, with the shortlist of nominees being announced shortly thereafter.

Shortlisted clubs will be offered two complimentary guest invitations to attend the Awards Dinner and Presentation on Saturday 23 March at Birmingham’s NEC. Tickets for other clubs and individuals will go on sale early January 2019.
