The Rover 2000/2200engine was a big bore/short stroke engine, which by its nature develops less torque at low speeds than traditional 'British' long-stroke engines. The Triumph 2000 engine in comparison had low-speed pulling power to spare, so the need to drop to a smaller or single carb arrangement was not so necessary. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

Good point.
I haven't got the manual handy & it's been a long time since my ownership of a 6/110 but I recall it was a under-square engine with 2 SU's whereas the Humber was an over-square unit with a pair of Strombergs. both auto's. _________________ 1987 classic Range Rover Vouge

A great many models have served me well since the 'sixties, all of them old & some even older than me. |

The original new super snipe of 1958 was fitted with an engine designed by Armstrong Siddeley was a 2.6L square engine 82.55x82.55mm 112bhp the later series II 3L was over square at 87.2x82.55mm 129bhp both were fitted with a single zenith carb until the series V when twin stromberg carbs were fitted and power increased to 138bhp, engines were the same for both manual and auto transmission. _________________ old tourer
