Most of the specialised forums I look in on have migrated to Facebook groups...
FSOC, for example, has a closed-to-club group...
The Dellow Register has it's own group, but there's also a more widely frequented Dellow group as well...
Same with the Buckler Register.
Both the Buckler Register and the FSOC have a members-only group [closed to all others]...wherein technical advice, etc, is given & received.
The Dellow Group is a bit less stringent in its access.
All are moderated quite strictly.....
But they provide an easily accessible point-of-contact that forums tended not to....and, of course, place a zero strain on the Club finances.
The Mustang owners Club GB has their own specific forum, neatly divided by year [era?]...which is a very useful resource.
I find forums on specific platforms need a dedicated 'visit'....whereas Facebook is a lot more easily accessible, via any number of technologies.
Those who shun the techno world [for whatever reason?] usually know someone close by [with the shared interest] who does use Facebook....so contact can still be maintained...even if 2nd hand.
The immediacy of this form of communication has to be an improvement on the quarterly, or bi-monthly, club journal or magazine? Changes to events, etc can be easily communicated....
Oh how contact with like minded individuals has changed over the years? _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

Pretty much agree with Badhuis.
Admin on the Wolseley Forum, own and run the Landcrab Forum. Enjoy OCC, and Retrorides is usually a good fun read.
