We in Jaguarland have had a few problems with RM Sotheby's over the last few years, and managed to get one car withdrawn. A D-type that purported to be XKD 604 (scrapped after written off at Silverstone 1956) and estimated at $6 million. Another had had the history airbrushed and sanitized. And they do love the word "concours" too. At that Monterey auction there was one such car with loads of things wrong with it. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
