Jaguar sent me an email saying that the family wanted a private funeral but that they were planning a celebration of his life later on. I'll post the details when I have them, but you may read it in the press beforehand anyway. He was such a lovely chap to talk to, and one of my favourite memories was 2016 at Prescott. I asked if he was staying over at the hotel for the night and he said he couldn't because he had to take his son to the hospital in the morning. And then he added "I have to be so careful these days you know. I only have two point left!" And this at 96 years of age! His dream was to do the ton on his 100th at MIRA, a place he spent much of his working life testing and fettling Jaguars. Sadly not to be. |
