Latest buys which I'm pretty pleased about, a Tri-ang lorry:



and a one-off Leyland truck made from heavy gauge steel, working sprung suspension and rather heavy

Anyone else 'invested' in any nice toys lately?

This appeared recently too, a Murray pedal car - I think made in the USA. A bit of tinworm is present (the other side is better than that in the photo), but am v pleased with it!

Hi

Looks a nice toy!! Looks real original, are you going to do any remedial work to it?

I have allways wanted to convert a pedal car, or scratch build a pedal car with a small engine, a child hood dream that never came true for me!

I stumbled across a stall recently selling a huge selection of old toys the other week, I succumbed to a few of them:

A tinplate Bedford S Type, plus some smaller Bedford-type plastic toys, each with a different rear body


A friction drive (with siren) estate car, and a tin truck (make unknown)


My favourite, a tin tank made by Marx, complete with rubber tracks Cool

WARNING! Pay no heed to this advice! Take it from someone who KNOWS!
I TRIED to stop buying toys once. It was a disaster. I went into with-drawl. My condition worsened. I ended up spending MORE, and had to double the garage from 500 to 1000 square feet. For a while, I didn`t think I was going to make it. Thank GOD my wife was able to help talk me down.....averting a physical breakdown, and financial ruin.
Now I`m back to my previous levels of "collector addiction", and am able to keep it under control with only a few purchases a month.
PLEASE be careful with the "cold turkey" method. If you MUST cut back, then just focus on those "special" pieces.....but do not just STOP all together, or you WILL be sorry.
We`re here for you, man!

Ric I have one very simular as the leyland ,I got it for Christmas and a slewing crane to match for my birthday , god knows how may years now , I will take a pic of the when I go to Mums most of my toys are still there
