This popped up on FB, I think it was taken in Italy but other than that, details are sketchy. Does anyone recognise this fine machine?

Hi
My first thought is it's a Bugatti of some sort.

The car seems to have been made for someone with extremely long arms and legs.

The seats are staggered; the driver's seat is probably 12" in front of the passenger's seat.
Definitely not a Bugatti: the radiator is set too far back, and the steering wheel too far forward. In addition a Bugatti would have reversed quarter-elliptic springs at the rear, not the semi-elliptics which are clearly visible.

Yes, an Austin 12 Windsor; probably 1928 because it looks like it has the wider track introduced in late 1927.

One of these was nearly my first car. It was parked, for sale, for months near our house.
Allegedly it had a sheared king pin, but had still passed the MoT!
I ended up with an Austin 10 Sherborne.

This car features in a tatty old photo album I picked up recently at a collectors' centre (aka junk shop). The shape of the radiator rings a bell, but ....?

I immediately thought Spyker 12/16hp, circa 1905-06, as featured in the film Genevieve, but I'm not convinced ... The radiator looks right, but this car appears to have a substantial chassis cross-member under the radiator, which does not feature on the Genevieve car. Also, the centre section of the front axle looks right, but the outer sections on the film car are tubular in section, whereas this car has I-section ends.

I've smaller head-on view of the same car, I'll take a snap of that later and post it on here. The photos were taken around Buxton (Cat and Fiddle etc).
