hi
Not the bus. It might have been posted on a bus enthusiasts site but they often go car and van spotting on these street scenes. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

It's the Cowley on the right.
I took it to be a commercial version with a painted grille, a typical giveaway. _________________ Mike - MVPeters at comcast.net

This one isn't so much a mystery but apparently there is a rarity on here.
It is on an SCT61 thread.
I didn't know which it was and to stop cheating I have blocked out the exact thread link and the bus reg.

I can't see any rarity. Can you point it out.
Not the A70 in the foreground?
Or was it that MO behind it ?

I think the odd thing with the MO is that it appears to have a curved top to the door window frame (or maybe that's a curve on the railingsbehind, in which case the door window is frameless!); the rear side window shape also looks a bit odd; maybe some sort of 2-door coupe? _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

No, Penman, it's not a Cowley! The 1200cc Cowley version was introduced in July 1954 based on the Mk2 Oxford. These earlier MOs were all Oxfords (or LCVs). This is an early car with the pre-1952 grille, or perhaps a Martin Walter conversion on the van base, which retained this grille style.
edit: OUM is a 1951-52 Leeds registration, so I reckon it's a standard Oxford. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

Looking for coal scuttles with 4 louvres I came across this De Dion Bouton. (Z type ??)
Not very similar otherwise I must admit.

I think you are right, Peter. I would also say De Dion Bouton Z type (8hp).
One thing about these veterans I have noticed is that the oblong radiator mounted with brass surround and script seems to vary from one car to another. It would be interesting to know if, originally, the cars just had a couple of finned pipes for cooling as this seems to have.? |

Any of you chaps able to take a punt on what this might be?
UIWolseley. by Penguin 45, on Flickr
Have been contacted as the chap thinks it may be a Wolseley but it doesn't match any of my records. Looks a bit Morrisy around the radiator to my eye.
Thanks,
P45. _________________ '67 Wolseley MkI 18/85, '70 Austin MkII 1800 The Landcrab Forum. |

If the car behind is any sort of a clue, I would say it might be a Singer.
