Does anyone know what make/model the car is in front of the Rover P2?

That’s an easy one. It’s a MKV Jaguar

I think the car facing the camera is a mid/late '30s Flying Standard - it looks to be quite a large car, so possibly a Flying Twenty. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

Except they had a divided rear window which I can't see. |

That one looks to me to be a MkV Jaguar.

From memory, a 1 1/2 litre finished 7th and 8th (3rd and 4th in class) in 1934. My friend had some of the remains of the 7th placed car in what was a rotten coupe when he found it in north wales. It had a rare 2 litre engine. Bored and Stroked. |

The interesting vehicle transporting the car is a "Sheppee steam Lorrie" built by Col.Sheppee of York. Perhaps one of the first car transporters?
...but what is the make of the car being carried on it's flat bed.?
It looks like a "vis a vis" with the front seat removed. My initial thoughts are a Benz of some kind. The step forms a V shape which is a Benz feature. The chassis is dead straight which also lends itself to Benz as do the different size front and rear wheels but the rear wheels are not a 'Victoria' feature. It has a large lever pointing forward. Maybe a RHD Benz Ideal 7hp with modified superstructure?

The lorry body sits very high off the chassis. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
