Hi everybody!
Would anyone like this as a restoration project?
The car is a 1969 Morris 1100 Mk II, which was owned from new by my grandparents. It’s currently a non-runner and will need quite a bit of work, but the engine has very few miles on it – fewer than 50k from memory. It’s been on SORN since about 1994, and currently resides on my parents’ driveway – and they’d prefer it wasn’t!
I’ve actually arranged for a scrapyard to come and get it next week, but if anyone’s interested, I’ll tell them not to bother. I’d rather it could find a good home, or at least be used for parts.
I’m not looking for anything for it – if you want it, you can have it. |

Hi again. Now have some pics.
It was last driven in 1999, not 1994 as I said earlier, and the mileage is even less than I remember.
I think most of the bodywork is actually in reasonable nick. Most of the problems are probably underneath. It's had a new rear subframe, offside front wing and offside sill since I've had it - but that's several years now. It'll certainly need a new nearside sill. The hydroelastic suspension has had a very slow weep for some time and is now right down, and the fuel pump I know is not working. I think most of the rust in the floor pan (bottom two pics) is superficial - but it's been a while since I looked closely.

Hi Del
It's still there at the moment. I've had a bit of interest from a couple of people, but if nothing comes of it, will let you know.
Cheers,
Jon. |
