Hi
I did notice an awfull lot of tin plate toy vehicles for sale in the autojumble section at Weston Park Festival of Transport last weekend, didn't look at the prices as I would have been close enough to buy some then!! They must be becoming more wanted! (not the word I wanted but couldn't think of a better one!)
What do other people think on this?
Cheers

Yeah there's been a good following for tin toys for some time, I saw some Tri-ang tin lorries at the show - one was 65 quid and missing a grille, the other 55 and complete but with more damaged transfers.
I started out looking for old racing car toys, and aircraft, but more lately have looked out for old tin lorries as and when, older the better. Beats spending money on fags and beer (although I do sample the latter from time to time, just to keep in practice )

Hi
I was talking about this yesterday, that I don't smoke, don't drink any alchol, and actually haven't drunk anything bar water and the odd fruit juice for about 3 months, I have gone right off hot drinks for some reason!
It must save me a load of cash, but just means to my parents horror, that instead of spending it on drink I spend it on tools and bring them home with me! hehe
cheers
Dave
P.S... What type of wrench did you say you were after Rick, I bought a few different types the other day? |

My only tinplate toy, and the pride of my collection, a Schuco 1913 Mercer, an odd choice for a German company but i'm glad they made it
It is clockwork powered and features include working steering, forward and reverse gears and handbrake. It should also rock gently on its springs when idling, but that feature doesn't work on mine. I don't think that it's as old as it look, it says Made in Western Germany and DBGM on the underneath, so is it post-war? |
