My 1954 Phase II Standard Vanguard is for sale. £1650

This car is in condition 2+ and has been used by me as a daily driver since last August.

The car drives very well, is completely 'Standard' and original having had very few owners during it's life.
It also has the rare overdrive option which effectively gives five forward gears and reduces fuel consumption considerably.

Very sound mechanically, it has been a phenomenally reliable and fun car to use, the chassis and bodywork are very good and mostly rot free with just minor scrapes and dings picked up over the years to mar it's looks.

Tax and MOT runs to July or August (not quite sure without looking).

There aren't really any negative points other than the overdrive gasket drips a couple of dropsl after a good run and the exhaust is due for replacement.
Oh...and every time you return to it in a car park you are subjected to the memoirs of elderly gentlemen - but that's not really a negative is it? Wink

Shocked Shocked

I thought you'd cleaned the patio just to set off the Vanguard at its best?!!

Yeah, this is the car I would happily keep for years but I'm having a purge!

Having sold all but one of my bikes I'm now selling off the cars that are mainly standing around doing nowt.

I had to bite the bullet to include the Vanguard so thought I'd sell it first before I change my mind.

Hi

One of the pickups is still close by, I will keep bugging you for info about it don't worry!

I don't like selling stuff, my head is saying sell the estate, buy a landrover, my heart is saying keep the estate, and buy a landrover! Same with my tools, buy them yes, but sell - what a daft idea, I need to take some lessons in selling stuff, as I will have to sell some tools now!

Cheers

Dave

Naa buying is much more fun Smile why not keep the estate, because its in good nick and fairly old, sell the more modern Min, and put that £ into a Landy?
