Mrs Nail and I attended yesterdays show at Tatton Park where we were blessed with ideal show weather, which made the day much more enjoyable.
Amongst the many vehicles present were quite a few that I recognised from previous shows plus one or two more unusual offerings.
Looking at some of the entries reminded me of how much work can go into preparing a car for showing, and the attention to detail on some is painstaking.
I took this shot of the under-bonnet area of an Austin A35 Saloon simply because it is light years in advance of anything I could hope to achieve with my Somerset, really nice!
Most types of vehicles were in evidence but my personal preference is never with the pristine Jaguars or rows of MG's but with the ordinary saloons and commercials of the day which had my lens pointing more toward vehicles like the J-type pictured below.
Many of the cars I admired would once have been considered commonplace but I find them no less interesting and attractive, like this row of '60's Anglia's.
Wandering a little 'off piste' I came across this wonderful old motorcycle resting under a tree!
It wasn't part of the show but appeared to have been ridden there by a spectator, it really made an impression in stark contrast to the acres of sparkling chrome only yards away!
One car that did capture my imagination was a small Alloy bodied sports car, I have no idea what model it was perhaps someone can enlighten me?
Badged as a Riley this thing had me captivated, it was a true 'seat of the pants' type car and beautifully put together, the cockpit reminded me of a WWI fighter plane with it's brass levers and functional appearance.
Take a look at those exhausts! I didn't get to hear it run but I sure wish i could have been around to hear it start up.
Moving on to sports cars of a smaller variety...here was one for Rick to race around his driveway on!

I was at Tatton yesterday too! the little Riley is a special built on a proper Riley chassis, not sure of the model, appears at a few shows throughout the year 'down here' and it does sound as well as it looks!!
Did you see the uber-original Wolseley 6/80, original black faded paint, polished through to the primer in places?? looked great just down from the Morris J van stand

We attended the show as a a club, there were a lot of very nice cars about (I liked the big Wosley Police cars) weather was good a lot of interest from the public long may it continue
Thanks for that Rick poor car ended comming home behind an RAC truck

No, I was there Saturday as well Rick. That yellow Iso Grifo was absolutely gorgeous!! I was looking at it for about 15 minutes!! You can see how bored the missus was on the picture of the back of it.....
