Hi Roverdriver,
I tracked down the owner of the old rusty car today.
cool guy he said it is a 1927 Star rumble seat sedan
it has been on his property before he bought the place in 1970
The place was a old abandoned farm
now the car is lawn art

wooden spoked wheels
cheers

The radiator shell shape is reminiscent of Buick, but other makers used similar. The star on the hubcap certainly identifies it. Star was a car from the Durant stable. I believe it was marketed in the U.K., and here in Oz too as the Rugby.

Hank, can you check your email address in your profile please? I'm getting thread reply notifications bouncing back, possibly due to your email being incorrect or similar.

thanks RJ

Hi gang,
My wife and our dog and I are out on a road trip visiting family and friends,
my daughter said you got to go meet this guy down the road.
She said he has more good junk in his yard than you.

Now I like all old cars and trucks. Meeting the guy we hit it right off from the start
We talked about VW diesels and cabbages and kings, sawmills and building styles and at least a dozen other subjects.
He showed me his small Dodge Ram pick up truck that came with a VW 4 cylinder gas engine that he removed and switched in a VW diesel.
I asked if he had any old cars on his place so he showed me this beauty

Pontiac Bonneville

421 cu.in triple carb

He said he is going to restore one of these days --Oh ya sure

Then he gave me a couple leads on other guys to go visit, with similar interests.
more pictures .
It has been an interesting trip so far with lots of cool rust to photograph.
cheers
Hank

ps Rick I upgraded my profile thanks

I like the look of American 1920's cars, lovely seeing them sat outside for years and not completely collapsed. By chance we caught an old episode of the Waltons the other day, some lovely cars in that.
