I have the standard little winged cap, but I need a cap that a temperature gauge can be screwed into - I think it is a Boyce Motometer from memory. Does anyone have a spare cap?

thanks, Rick

Can I suggest a worthwhile modification Rick? Cannot help with supplying the cap but it may interest you to know how I did mine: The big problem with calormeters is, that you don’t dare leave the car unattended or some light-fingered “p*key” type will be away it.

I picked up an old cap at an autojumble stall that had guide pegs for the catch broken, I cut a piece out of the fin to allow a hole to be drilled for the calormeter to be fitted, then the spring-loaded catch was affixed to the calormeter shaft and a little tool made, consisting of a small strip of steel with the end turned over by about a quarter of an inch to lock, and release it from the radiator, otherwise it just turns without releasing.

Hope the pics’ show what I am trying to explain.
I know it works; because a couple of times I have returned to the car to find the cap has been turned out of position.
Hope there are no “p*key” reading this.
