Just thought I'd post some pictures of one of my on-going Projects, which is a little J40 Pedal car, (made in 1965 model Laughing ).
I've had the J40 for just over a year now and have so far stripped it down, had most parts carefully sand-blasted and have restored & re-painted many of the components. The Bodyshell just needs a couple of minor repairs and then re-painting.

The Car was complete when purchased, just needing to replace some parts due to damage or severe corrosion.

The Steering Wheel had chunks missing from the centre but with a very small drill-bit and some fine brass rod, I managed to make a sort of frame-work for strengthening and then use some metal-filler to repair.

Main body shell after sandblasting

Have you a classic to carry it around in?

Cheers

Love it!! I'd really like a J40 to carry around in the back of the A40 Pickup one day, I've seen one carried in a pickup and it looked really neat

Hi Buzzy Bee & Rick,
I have a Classic but it's a Ford Popular and wouldn't fit!!
To transport it around it has to go in my Vauxhall Astra Van and it takes up all of that!
It's amazing how big the J40 is, measuring just over 5ft in length. Shocked

Me neither! Crying or Very sad

Maybe it's time to build pedal cars for adults...? A bit like Bugsy Malone but single seaters, based on real vehicles like this one.

Just thinking out loud...
