Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum and am looking for advice.
I recently dragged a forgotten 319 from the bush in Swaziland and was wondering what is best to do with it.
I have rebuilt VW campers and Hiluxs in the past but this is a much bigger job needing lots of time and money.
Is it worth shipping it to Europe, what might it fetch?
Is it worth stripping and selling the individual parts?
The chaacter she has makes it heartbreaking to even consider stripping, I would rather it go to a passionate restorer.
Please help.
Thanks. |

I'm not too sure about this mainly due to the size of the thing. As you say it would be best to keep it in one piece if possible, couldn't you get it running and driving at least? |

Rick,I imagine he's talking about a Mercedes L319:

If it's in good nick it would be ok,but there are a lot of them about in Germany. Most are converted fire appliances, because they generally don't do huge mileages. But if it's a wreck, let it rest |

It sounds like a lovely old bus, have you begun to restore it?. There were none imported here at all, and very few of the later models either. |
