Hi
Re the Lotus, of course it was the Mk 10 which was bristol engined and that didn't have the streamlined hump behind the drivers head.

Hadn't spotted LOY but I do know of that one there was quite a good article about it in one of the mags last year.

But what about the other one? The first car in ?green? .

the very light green car in pic #1 is an Aston, I think the prototype DB3S. The green car in pics #2 and #3 is an ERA.

Bit damp early on, but the sky cleared a little in the afternoon and things dried out mostly. Some really interesting cars running there, eg the Alfa Bimotore (2x straight eight engines, one up front, one in the tail) and the Jaguar XJ13 to name just two. It has the makings of a really good event.

I hope you got a discount Rick. It was the entrance fee that kept us away.

The preview day for the 2009 Pageant of Power took place on Friday. This will be the second year of the event, photos from Friday and other news of the main event in July will be going onto the main site shortly.

great minds think alike eh Peter!! Smile aye its a good 'do' definitely.

zandycap, as far as I can tell the ticket pricing structure has been tweaked, with two tiers of price depending on whether you want close-in paddock access or not. The non-paddock-access price this year is I think £13.50 (advance booking), which for a day's motorsport (and other stuff) compares quite well to other events of this type IMO.

Yes, but not sure which day yet, or whether to buy a 'Paddock Ticket' (25 quid - Bleedin' radiators!).

if you can run to it, the full paddock access is the one to go for - iirc the paddock area is very central to the event this year (last year there was no differentiation), so missing out on it could be a shame unless you just plan to set up stall alongside the track somewhere, and spectate all day.

Does LOY 500, the red Bristol, win the 'Best Trailer in Show' prize? I think so, much better than an Ifor Williams borrowed from a farm and still covered with cow poo!

I went along to this one on Saturday and Sunday, and it was excellent. Some really interesting cars and bikes - the rain held off on Saturday til 5pm or so, although yesterday a few downpours during the day did get in the way of action at times. Plus, water seems to have got into my camera and it now seems to be kaput Sad
