Heres an attempt to put some pics of my pumps up! The instructions were not altogether in line with what happened - but I'm on a mac so maybe its different. Hope they come through.

You need to click on the bottom link. When you do a small yellow tab should show saying copied. Then go to the forum page you want to show the picture and right click and paste

Posted On behalf of eddieg:-

A line up of my current pump collection ready for a Le Mans start!

Two old British Goodrich/Wood Milne's from the 1920's I think (in
reasonable shape but still to be properly overhauled)

A collection of kismets (still to be overhauled)

A sutty and aerite(fully mechanically overhauled in an 'oily rag'
sense and working great. But deliberately not restored to concourse)

Cheers

Dave

great photos Smile I like 'em all, especially the early Kismet and British Goodrich, I was tempted by a couple of the latter at the Onslow Park show a few weeks ago but didn't succumb that time.

Rick

PS I bought a nice old garage jack yesterday, but thats another story (and thread!)

Thanks, Dave for putting the pics up.

I agree, the old British Goodrich/Wood Milne are hansome beasts - real pieces of engineering with heavy metal, bolts and splitpins. Great to take apart and they make a wonderful noise when pumping. I'm getting another one soon - I think its been repainted etc - hope its not spoiled.

Will be looking for some more at Blenheim this Sunday.

Hi Eddieg, this guy seems to have various seals suitable for old pumps:

Hi Rick, yes, I've had a few washers from him and they are fine. He only has a limited range of sizes though. But my expert fom Australia - see separate posting of his guidelines - has helped me make leather washers myself which also work fine - just done a British Goodrich.

I hope to have a stall at the Malvern Classic Car Show next week - may see someone there? Gordon

Hi

Any tips for making them, or should I just have a go?

Cheers

Hi buzzy
There was a link, or even an actual posting, which gave the procedures for making leather washers, I think it was sometime in the last fortnight
