Do you have a pic of the original, I have a couple of hitches that I have taken off later Safaris. _________________ Brian

Be careful, old hitches were 2" and modern ones are 50mm so if you change the hitch you have to change the ball as well.
I'm not sure exactly when the change over happened. |

Good to see the pictures of your Bluebirds. I know of two Bluebirds, one of which appears to be very like yours, still on a static caravan site in Shropshire. |

I don't, but certainly one out of the two is still used and is in very good condition. There are two further Bluebirds close to this particular site, both in people's gardens, and my friend and I recently looked at another, again standing in a man's garden alongside a 1950's Argosy caravan. |

Hi, your hitch is more than likely to be a 2 inch type , 50mm started to came in use early sixtys onwards , you can put a 2 inch hitch on a 50mm ball but only for emergancies ! .
A tip for spotting the differance between the two types most 50mm balls have a small flat on the top of the ball, My first resto was a 1960 bluebird cambrian, and my tow car was a 1962 vauxhall cresta ,good luck with the bluebird ....Paul |
