hi guys ,

I'm from scotland an i'm currently about to start restoring my 1968 mini cooper [ last of the mk1's].I have driven the car all year round for 3 years now and love it to bits so its time for a 50% overhaul mainly bodywork . It had a new 1380cc engine recently and i have done the brakes and hydro fairly recently also. I'm on a budget so should be interesting .

Came to the site in search of like minded people that have done resto's and could help with any questions i may have . Hopefully i can help with some things on here also .

Hi

Welcome, look forward to seeing a pic of the mini. I used to have a Clubman Estate, sold that, but still have a Mini Sidewalk in the shed, in need of a little work, one day one day...

Laughing

Cheers

thank you for the warm welcome ,

here is a picture of my car taken at a show the start of last year

I'm about to retore the car to how it was in 1968 , ie no wheel arch extensions , seam covers, spot lights , anything that wasnt standard will be removed . Thought long and hard about restoring the mini to standard of modified slightly but then i though theres millions of modified minis so theres no need for another. Very Happy

Hi

I am glad you ahve made the right decision, early minis look best standard, like you say you go to a show, and how many stock minis in MK1 guise do you see!

Look forward to reading and seeing pics of what you get up to.

Here are my minis, or at least the Estate was mine! Crying or Very sad

Rick I dont think you've been following the price ranges for early Ss lately!!
They've gone astronomical!!!
I've lost all hope of owning one some day!!!!
