I did this last Summer for a chap near Cromer.
He has owned it for donkeys years. Was his daily hack during the 1970s.
Time had taken its toll, & the last tidy up it got was 19 years ago.
So he had done all the welding himself, then tried to paint it.
Using 60 grit followed by a thin wishy washy coat of cellulose Connaught green it looked awful.
My job was to block it all back, level out the scratches and marks & paint it again.
Using stopper in the scratches, followed by a good coat of two-pack high build.
This in turn blocked back with the wet & dry before a good coat of Connaught green two-pack & gloss black two-pack wings.
Im not a lover of instant wet flatting and polishing, so try to get as good as I can a finish straight from the gun.
Allowing natural polishing by the owner at shows to get the best of the shine.
Unless they want it near concours then I do the 1500 grit & the Farecla !
This Wolseley was left gun finish & withing 3 months of the show season last year it looked magnificent. _________________

Hi
Looks very shiny!
Love pics like this, if you have any others, don't be shy!
You should start a thread with your ramblings in, what you are doing to cars each weekend etc.
Cheers
