I do have an special interest in Wilson (preslector) gearboxes, so I would like to read more opinions. |

I too have driven Wilsons in London's AEC type RT buses, nice drivers. One thing I do seem to remember is that when shifting the gear selector from 4 to 3 it was important to ensure your hand was the right way up (or down, I can't remember) else you could accidently pre-select first … with predictable consequences when you next hit the operating pedal !
Another issue was the dire need to keep the operating pedal depressed (on first starting up) regardless of the selector lever position placed in neutral until the air pressure warning 'flag' went up. |
