A great time driving in convoy from North Queensferry to the Falkirk Wheel - where we were allowed to park outside the visitors centre and were the star attraction - and then onto Boness railway before heading back to the hotel for a meal. Other went to Ocean terminal and a few hardy drivers went a 100 mile outer route run to the Trossachs.
Some pictures of the day:

The third car from the right in the second picture is a Volvo Amazon Estate, they seem to get everywhere!
Can't help with the Rileys _________________ Brian

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply but I was awaiting the definitive reply from one of the SRE commitee.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The first car ADU is an MPH, an out-and -out racer created by the Riley
factory in 1934 that uses the 6/12 engine. The body design paid tribute to
the Italian cars of that period. Only 17 were ever built, and I am told 16
have survived. If you wanted to buy one,you would have to be a well-known
and respected competitor and have about £200,000 to spare!
Two are owned by members of SRE.
The second one, AGP is a Trinity Coupe. This is not a factory car. The
chassis engine and running gear are of course of factory manufacture, and
are bog standard Monaco 9hp, though the model as originally launched could be had with a 6/14 or 6/12 engine and chassis.
The body was built by a firm called Meridith Coachcraft, and was three
different body styles in one body. It could be an open 2-seater,and open
4-seater or a close-coupled coupe when the disappearing hood was erected.
The name Trinity relates to the 3-in-One philosophy!
Only three of these cars have survived, and this one is the only one of
these to be on the Road. Two are owned by members of SRE.
AG7384 is a 1929 '9' Monaco
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Cheers

Thank you for the very informative reply.
I guess I will have to stick with my "9 Special" which no doubt will soak up the bank account when I get around to restoring it!
The SRE seems to be a very active group with some great cars.
Cheers,

Hi Alistair,
Any pics of your 9 Special?
We have a driving RM 1 1/2 chassis with a rebuilt engine which I have a hankering to make into a special - but there are so many other projects that it might have to wait
Yes the SRE is a very good club with a very nice social side and lots of outings. |

Yes, look here:

As you can see, there is plenty of work but all the pieces are there.
It was stored for 45 years...hope to back on the road in less than that!
