I swapped a red SAAB 96 for this yesterday..and i'm chuffed to bit's with her..
Needs a new gearbox and a few other bits but i have most items already..being a "one mark" man has it's advantages! _________________ Rust Junky & oil addict.

Can't be too many of those about, especially as clean as that one. I reckon that was a good swap. |

Love the period colour! Has it been restored or is it original? I agree with Victor 101, it does look very smart! _________________ Richard Hughes |

Some years ago I contemplated getting a Saab estate. I saw one this colour for sale in the Midlands but bottled out at the last minute as I knew I would buy it without thinking sensibly and later regret it as my work life was chaotic at the time. The rear view of a Saab estate is the best, such an unusual design, almost architecture as opposed to engineering! |

Let's hope they start building quality cars again rather than an accountants dream from the "part's bin"..it won't affect me as i am happy to use my "classic" cars as every day vehicles...12,000 miles a year.
(OPEN RANT) tried to insure this car through the AA today as an "every day" car..not a classic..they refused to accept it even though i was trying to swap the existing policy from a 1972 VW Beetle to the SAAB...a beetle can be a "1st car" but a SAAB can't (RANT OVER) _________________ Rust Junky & oil addict. |

Good luck to all you Saab enthusiasts and dreamers who hope the company will return to making 'proper' cars. |

I have the use of a great ..cool (it's been very very hot for the past few days) workshop for the weekend so i have planned a full on few days..a large pile of new bits are waiting in the background..just in case.
Most of this evening was spent moving bit's and tools from my workshop to the garage..i pulled the front end off and hope to have the engine and box out early tomorrow..that gives me plenty of time for cleaning, welding, and other engine bay jobs..

A Saab 95 has just surfaced near me.
The usual 'little old lady had it for years in the garage' tale.
Yellowy beige colour. Making enquiries cos I quite fancy it. _________________

Go for it paul..you have wanted one for ages.
Watch the rear end..they rot around the lever arm damper supports and around the lower edge of the rear door appeture.
Yes Rick..they are gwtting quite rare now..i have only seen 2 in the flesh over the past 10 years (apart from the one i broke last year and the yellow one i have in the garage) _________________ Rust Junky & oil addict. |
