I attended the Lowestoft Classic Vehicle Club's annual Show at Maltings Meadow last Sunday along with another forum member & had a really good day. Plenty to photograph & drool over, as you will see.

Great pics. Not so sure about some of the cars. The ones adorned with badges particularly but I liked the Cresta whose owner thought it should look like a fish. Wink

Thanks for the excellent photos - almost feels like I attended myself! It's great to see cars in shows outside your catchment area.

Terrific collection of photos and cars. What a variety of vehicles!

I wish we had as many shows in Oz as you folk do in the UK without having to travel for hundreds of miles!

It looks like you had a good time and a great selection of cars, but one thing that always gets me is that we live in a smallish lump that sticks out in to the sea, so where do all these cars hide out when they are not at shows? as you do not see them on the roads around here doing the everyday trip to tescos etc

I like the blue and white Bond with the Villiers engine in van form, no rear windows, it's the only one I've seen, proving that this version was not just a catalogue idea and really did exist!

Also the red Motobi motorcycle with horizontal engine, the Aermacchi was more common but only for racing, a very expensive road bike.

Great mix of cars there, something for everyone by the looks of things.

Gilberry, we've got friends with rods that never take them out and when they do it's only to a local show less than a mile away from their homes.
We did another 200 mile round trip in the Fairlane at the weekend and fingers crossed will be taking the Super Snipe down the Humber Internations, which will be a 400 mile round trip. I know it helps have a slightly more comfy car (although the Fairlane ain't that comfy) and they can just about keep up with modern traffic, which helps.

Sorry rant over.

Simon had to go to Northampton the other sunday in the Amazon as my trusted car broke down on the way to a wedding and we could not get a hire car on a Saturday afternoon. I dont think I would have trusted the Sceptre but this volvo is proving itself to be the most reliable one we have had in years, now i have said that something will go wrong and Simon does not get his new car till 16th September Smile

Yes a good show the Lowestoft club always do a good one, the bond lives in the southtown area of Great Yarmouth but I dont think its road legal as it seems to be trailered everywhere, we should try to let each other know if we are going to a show then we can meet up and put faces to names, I was there and my car seems to be the only one that didnt make it in to the photos (ok I know she's a bit rough but she's not that bad - just kidding) The buses come from the East Anglian Transport Museum in Lowestoft. Regards all Steve
