Both front seats are done so it is time to tackle the rear seat.
I opened the squab to find...........a mouse nest.

It did not take long to strip and rebuild the squab

So on to the seat back. I opened the back up to find.................a mouse nest and the ply back was riddled with woodworm. I fact there was so much wild in this car I am suprised that Bill Oddie hasn't turned up.

Best make a new back, quick work with a band saw. Very Happy

And now for a bit of PVA

The seat back is now finished so there is no more upholstery to do. So I fitted them to the carpet but unfortunately there is too much weight to get off the ground. I will just have to fit them in the car instead.

My Honey can now have her kitchen and living room back Wink , till next time.

The interior is now being fitted. I have glued underlay over the rear wheel arch and I have just laid the cover over it. The trim is just sitting there and the other parts will be tried in the car as a first fit so I can trim or modify any parts before they are permanently fitted.

Very neat work. Do you do all the stiching yourself?
Looks like the cat is still looking for the escaped mouse in picture with the celebratory beers ready!

Yes, I bought a sewing machine and had a go. This is my first attempt and it is not too difficult as long as you have enough material to have a couple of goes when it gets a bit hard.

This time I had my camera with me so I could capture the moment. This often happens when I leave the Morris by itself, I return to find a model draped over it.

This time I have given her a grease gun which she said she can use with her eyes closed.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Door cards are now ready to be screwed to the doors and then the doors can be fitted to the car.

It'stime to sort the roof out and I have used beech for this. The bandsaw came in really handy and cut the curved side pieces and cross members with minimal sanding. I used flexi-ply to cover the wood and remade the steel plate that goes around the roof.

I picked up a pair of running boards from The Cooke Group and decided to fit one straight away. I started by "cleaning up" the fixing plate on the back of the front wing with my angle grinder and it fell out - woops!

I gave it a good derust and clean and with the running board in place I welded it back on. With a bit of persuading with a hammer and brute force the board now sits in the right place.

Glueing the rubber on is going to be fun.

I'm certainly interested to see how Nic tackles the fixing of the fabric/leather cloth roof section. I have received conflicting advise on how to go about this job on my 1926 Vauxhall. A picture is worth an thousand words.

The Morris is back at home now and I have finished the roof section. I made some new running board mounts and fitted them. When I offered up the running boards they have the mounts in the wrong place. They have measured the mounts from the outside edge so they are not even parallel to the body mounts and the rear mounts are about 1 inch too far to the rear. Out with the grinder and welder. Happy days!
