Sorry UKDave I don't believe it is unless it is a bus pre 1955!!.

It would be foolhardy to rely on one original lamp I would think. I've checked the regs and see -

This was one of the few retrospective rules - if you can find any authority for one being legal please post here. Some MoT testers are not up to speed on old vehicles this may be such a case.
