From time to time new items, which include something related to old caravans, get added to the main site. Although there is an ongoing Whats New thread in the Links section of the forum, not everyone here keeps an eye on it, so from now on, if something 'van-related is added in, I'll give it a second mention in this Sticky thread.

Rick

For starters:

1/12/09 Several 1940s shots of a 7Y Ford, with caravan, added to this page in the vintage photo section.

G'day Rick,

Thanks for those links to other caravan photos... maybe somebody can tell us what they are ?

The little Ford would be puffing pulling it's 'van along I would think.

Cobber.

19/1/10 A cracking old photo of two cars and a caravan, seen in 1935, added to this page. Can anyone identify the caravan?

28/1/10 New to the historic caravan section of the site, scans taken from a 1937 Carapart catalogue describing their range of pre-war caravan accessories and fittings.

Brill photo is of a Thomson caravan with extreme styling. Made in Scotland by Daniel Thomson, a Scottish joiner who had been making caravans since about 1908. The shallow tail of the caravan was used as an outside locker. A real classic photo! Laughing

10/3/10 Featured in one of the Vauxhall 14 photos I added to the foot of the page below, is a mid-1950s Pemberton caravan.

7/6/10 Not caravanning as such, but definitely camping related - two post-war shots of a pre-war Austin 10 van, converted into a camper.

9/3/12 Included amongst some period shots of an F-Type Vauxhall Victor added to this page, are two showing the car with a small caravan - can anyone confirm the make of 'van? Sprite maybe?

thanks, R
