Hi - had to get me some new daily transport to Beaulieu as a kind lady knocked me off the Beemer and it was written off just before Christmas.
As the weather was so bad decided on 4 wheels at least until the Spring.

Trouble is the weather has gotten worse! So Midge hasn't been anywhere since I got him home from Bournemouth!







Oddly his front sidelights are at different heights, seems like an odd wing was fitted at some stage. He cam with a million photos of a 90's rebuild and every recipt since day one. He will never be Concours d'elegance but he was bought as daily transport only.

No doubt I shall be back with a few questions ! My first MG at 55 - and I am pretty excited!

Absolutely! When we colleted him on the 2nd it was minus 4 and I drove from Bournemouth to Beaulieu with the "kit" roof in the boot. Despite a nice spin at Tesco's after refuelling, had a great journey. (Must get a bag of cement in the boot too!)

My TT was always driven with the roof down, unless it was really pouring down. Best time ever was over the Downs at 3 am with the stars twinkling and heated seats on full.

I see you have the same problem aligning the doors as I do with my Sprite. Seems damn near impossible to get them right.

Hi PT, hardly noticed that and not worried either as Midge bought as daily transport. There are more pressing problems such as

RPM guage u/s
No heater (bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrr its cold) working
Washer bottle missing
Battery dead
No wing mirrors or door mirrors
Parcel shelf gone
Fuel consumption high

But thats just the fun of an older car eh?

I love the looks of the Midget & rasp of an A series engine. Autmunm day half tourneu done up one side with the heater on around your feet and a big coat is just motoring heaven. Its not the fastest or most expensive but it is one of the best. I had a 1972 Red one.

your passenger side wing is correct, the driver side wing is from a later chrome bumper midget with the smaller chrome bumpers - early wings are harder to find.

you heater may have been turned off at the engine? at the back corner of the head where the pipe comes out of the engine and goes into the heater box there is usually a tap - if the car was mainly used in summer it is likely that the previous owner turned the heater off at the tap otherwise it can melt your feet quite quickly in the summer!
