When I imported my 64 International truck in May 2004, I drove it out of Bristol docks and headed for Birmingham. Along the way I congratulated myself with my latest American import and made plans as to how long it would be before it was MOT'ed and registered. Those dreams and the journey were interrupted by an occasional misfire which got worse until it finally stopped near West Bromwich. A nice man from the AA got me and the International the last few miles home. Clearly, it needed quite a lot of work, but little did I realise that it would be five years before it again moved under it's own power. A lack of money and motivation was to blame, but yesterday I was able to start it up and back it out of the garage that has been it's home for all that time........yippee
Perhaps I will now get my **** into gear and get moving with the rest of the work. _________________ 1964 International Harvester |
