|
Last sunday the mini club of which I am a member was invited to this car show held in a village called Santa Venera. I took some photos of the cars of which I did not have any or perhaps had forgotten I had.
Lets start with a photo of my mini before it went back in the garage;
Then a couple of new cars to me in our club;
Riley elf mark 3
Originally a mark 2 but now much modfied including a 1275 turbo and fully rose jointed body
Moke
Then there was a variety of old fords, mgs, triumphs, a fiat, an alfa, a mercedes and american cars
Liked this model y a lot, was told it was recently imported from uk
A friends anglebox fitted with a pinto and twin 48s
Very close replica to the original (has been featured on local programmes and as far as I know was also imported from uk)

I think that Santa Venera looks too big to be called a village.
I smiled when I saw that your friends 105E Anglia was parked on double yellow lines right outside the Police Station!
How come the Triumph Herald had 'JAG' plates on? _________________ Keep Torqueing,

oh well its small to be called a city though but villages, cities or whatever here are connected one to the other and you rarely now where one ends and the other starts, population has grown and new buildings have expanded the cities' limits!!!
The road was closed to normal traffic though, so that's why the cars were parked everywhere.
Oh and the jag plate is just a coincidence, thats a normal plate issued by the transport authority, its not a personalized one!!
Or at least thats what I think!! |

When was the last time you saw a Mk1 Cortina with such perfect panel gaps and all body seams present and correct?
Malta is very kind to cars. _________________

thats true paul. the body does not suffer too much rot but the interior does suffer a lot from the sun.
In uk its the other way round, you see cars full of rust holes but with an immaculate or at least very good interior!! |
