i have discovered yet another problem after taking my mg midget (after standing for about 4 months). There is a weird high pitched squeal, but its definitely a high frequency electrical noise, and not a slipping belt/mechanical noise.
at first i thought that it was the RF effect from the sparkplugs on the radio, but the noise comes from the engine area. It also increases frequency when the engine is reved, plus is at its loudest at about 1000rpm.
any ideas people? the car is fine, very drivable, its just noisy both in the cab and outside
will see if i can record it on a video clip _________________ 1985 Mini Mayfare (1275)

Pop your fan belt off and run your engine for a few moments, if the noise has gone check your alt/dynamo bearings. |
