THE GOOD
As we went in we almost straight away bumped into Emma & Olly from the Mobile Cinema. A lovely couple and it was a delight to see the pictures did not lie and the cinema is very nicely finished, the only problem was -no bar! I think every one should have their own private film theatre. Very Happy . Once again the atmosphere was great and they had organised the car park better this year by arranging the old cars next to the entrance and nicely spaced.
THE BAD
I was dissapointed that there was not one Talbot to be seen. This is one of the most renown pre war marques and the first car to cover over 100 miles in one hour. Not even a Talbot Lago. I really wish we could have taken ours but as it is currently for sale it is not worth the risk.
THE UGLY
See the last photos. (Only its mother could love it) but worth restoring!

To be continued...................

By ugly do you mean the slightly ungainly blue Railton Nic? Pesumably a special on the usual Hudson mechanicals - incidently the 8 cylinder engine used had splash lubrication.
The body is I am sure someones home made creation as a sort of light sports replica that being Railtons sports model.
I could be wrong

Thanks for posting them Nic, looks like I missed a good one. Maybe next year I'll be better organised and get down for it...?

Nic, you just beat me to it! Although I didn't have any pics. (left that technical stuff to my son) We had a glorious day on Saturday, but I must admit to enjoying the tax-exempt car park as much as the racing!
Did anyone else see the appallingly ugly Bedford CA Calthorpe camper?
All in all a fantastic weekend, and personally, I think it was better than the festival.

Just so long as he doesn't mean the Bristoil 405 behind it, between the MG and the AM?

Well I've left the "r" out of presumably and Penman has added an "i" to Bristol which may be a Freudian slip looking at the result. My error is just negligence!

Anyway Nic I never thought patience was a virtue - come on let's see it --

Rick, lots of films, we watched the Lotus Cortinas racing at Sebring USA.
"Patience is a virtue" not many virtuous people here.
THE UGLY

Nice legs, shame about the paintwork

Yes a real delight! Looking at the interior pics I start to feel itchy and need to scratch.
I'm going to upset some because I had to drive a CA van in my youth for an employer and the only good thing was the sliding door which could be left open in the summer. Until I had a petrol series Land Rover I never drove anything using so much petrol that had such little power. You could see how how Ford took the market when you drove the first Transits.
Going off topic so thanks for those Nic and I hope you did not get stuck behind it on the way home.

That's the one I meant. It had a sticker in the window which read "1957 Bedford CA, Calthorpe conversion". What put me off was the black mould inside the tea mug!
But I agree, well worth restoring.
It begs the question about MOT, though. Would it be exempt? Because I cannot see how it would pass a test. It was taxed though.

Can't see it being heavy enough to be MOT exempt, some soapy water and a pair of marigolds mightn't go amiss Smile
