Had a nice day Sunday
Richard
Shame you couldn't make it
It's a monthly open day, well have to arrange a meet up
Took over 200 photos and still didn't get round it all.
And being on going would be different each month.
And a friendly helpful staff, they seemed to really enjoy talking and sharing with all, not too much trouble to raise or lower a ramp if requested, open a bonnet or two.

Wow, what a collection!
I'd volunteer to be the floor sweeper. |

Hi Rick
Not to far from here in Maldon.
http://www.jdclassics.co.uk/home
http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/magazine/3200.asp?id=14382
I believe it started with just a few tours but it was success that it became a monthly event.
Not sure what month it starts but next month will be the last this year.
And being working workshops there must be some changes each month, and as can be seen some surprise visitors

Seems the monthly open day will be one more this year.
I believe it will then be 'open day by invitation' with celebrity speaker
Have to wait and see.
I'd even be willing to pay.

Nice pictures Roger. I wish I could have been there. However, I start a new job soon, one with much better hours (Thursdays off and Sundays free until 6pm) so I should be able to get to loads more shows next summer _________________ Richard Hughes |

I see the Alex Buncombe ex-Fangio C-type is there. I'll always remember that car for his incredible performance at the Le Mans Classic this year in the third heat. He started 57th having had a breakdown in the night race and overtook the whole field to win by 15 seconds. Astounding.
Thanks for a wonderful set of photos. It's years since I went there last and boy has it changed!! |

Hi LD
Thanks for the info on the C-Type
Now I know what to tag the photo with and were to look for more history.
Shame that JD's have changed their minds about a monthly open day.
Just wish an aquaintance the other end of town, Terry Hoyle, would do the same.
