Thanet Classics Christmas Cruise

In Aid of the Pilgrims Hospice
Registered charity number 293968

Sunday 12th December
Meeting at 11.45am to leave promptly at 12.45pm
Starting at:
Red Arrows Club (By the Swimming Pool)
Newington Road, Ramsgate, CT11 0QX

All makes of Classic Cars welcome over 25 years old.

Prizes for:
Best Dressed Car
Best Dressed Adult
Best Dressed Child

All proceeds from this event go directly to the Pilgrims Hospice
(Registered charity number 293968).

The Pilgrims Hospices is a charity providing specialist palliative care free of charge to people in east Kent. We care for people with illnesses that cannot be cured including cancer, heart failure, respiratory conditions and neurological diseases.

The Christmas Cruise is FREE entry, although we are asking that you donate generously towards the cause and purchase raffle tickets if you can do so. (Or even donate a prize, email for more info) Tickets available from the Red Arrows Club.

It would be brilliant to see as many people as possible being enthusiastic about this event, decorating your cars with tinsel, fairy lights, baubles and anything and everything else Christmassy. Dress up yourself and/or your children, you never know you could win a prize if not I am sure you will have great fun.

It would be great to see you at the event,

Lee Collier
Event Organiser

Welcome Lee
Hope you get a good turnout for a worthy cause.

Being a full time carer My attendance will depend on getting someone to cover for me.
Also depends on the weather.

With just over 5 days till the cruise I thought I better give everyone a low down on everything that is happening.

For those who haven’t seen the route map here it is (you can street view it if you so wish!)
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=115916638409770196881.000493ae419a19fe7b3b5&ll=51.33466,1.401132&spn=0.003553,0.010568&z=17

The trophies have arrived and look brilliant, but you can’t see them till the day! So don’t forget to be in with a chance of winning one, there are the following categories.
Best Dressed Car
Best Dressed Adult
Best Dressed Child

So get creative to be in with a chance of winning!

I have to make sure I say thank you to Thanet Sports Trophies in Broadstairs high street, quality product and they even gave us a little bit of discount! http://www.thanetsportstrophies.co.uk/

We now have loads of raffle prizes thanks to some very generous donations from a few people/businesses.

The prizes now include:
A meal for two
£30 M&S vouchers
Some Alcohol!
Tins of sweets and biscuits
Cuddly toys
And a few other bits a pieces.

Raffle tickets are £1 a strip (5 tickets) and can be bought on the day, the draw will be back at the starting point as will the awarding of the trophies! 100% of proceeds from raffle tickets are going to the Pilgrims Hospice.

Thank you to:
Vee and Den Vine
Shaun and Rose Collier
Thanet Motor Centre (01843 296002)
Phase 2 Discos (07831 660725)
St James' Bar and Restaurant (07511018764)
And many others who I have probably forgotten (sorry).

We have also had the club and the cruise mentioned in Practical Classics Magazine, and I have heard from a few magazines that they are interested in doing small pieces on the event! So make sure you do your hair before you get there just in case we get some pictures in the mags! Very Happy

Once again, I just want to thank everybody that has support me in organising this event especially Tony Moss and Shaun Collier who have been working hard behind the scenes!

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope to see you at the event, ohh and don’t fret about the weather I have booked sunshine for the day! On a serious note this event will almost definitely be going ahead, but if the weather is as bad as it was last week, then keep checking our website (www.thanetclassics.co.uk) for any updates!

Can’t wait to meet you all,

All the best,

Lee

Cheers to those who came today!

Wasn't bad for an 18 year old's first ever event was it? HA

I hope you had a great day! If anyone has any pictures it would be appreciated if you emailed them over to me at info@thanetclassics.co.uk

I hope you enjoyed the entertainment and bonfire I organised at Joss Bay with the Jensen! You will be happy to know that it started at 6pm even after being on fire and being extinguished! HA.

Thanks again!!!

Here are all my pics.

Sorry to hear that Don, hope your better soon.
Was a fantastic day.
Even had one down from Clacton with his Lotus Cortina.
Then spent three, or more, hours cleaning when he got home.

And a bit of the scenery on route.
