Yesterday was the day when I picked up my 420G,
thank god it was a dry day and there wasnt the heavy winds we
have had all week.
We made use of the picnic table
Even though all the wood needs refurbing....
First job this morning was a wash and find all those dent and scratches you miss at the veiwing or its been waxed and they have been coloured in
its just come off a private plate so it needs some proper period plates when I find a supplier, also I need to find someone who does old car keys as it only came with 1 set
Its rust free as its spent its whole life except the last 3yrs in New Zealand and the brightwork is all good as well
The rubbers are all perished the front suspension needs a overhall, body need tidying up and no doubt the list will go on...... and on

Your car will almost certainly have had the reflective plates with raised black digits from new being a 1970/1 car. Depends how original you want it as I assume you were thinking of black and silver plates.
This Wolseley I know of still has its original dealer plates from 1971:

Hi Richard,
Thanks for your reply, yes I was thinking they were black with silver letters. But Im always ready to be corrected
I'll check the site out and see what it says whichever I get has got to be better than those on there _________________ Car-Nut

Hi Car-nut,
Well it's whatever you think looks best! Although black and silver plates are legal on anything pre-1973, they were introduced about 1965 and caught on very quickly as they looked very modern. Certainly not many black and silver plates were issued from new after about 1968.
Nice car btw. I know of a similar one rotting in a driveway not far from here. |

Impressive. All the gauges look good, and I wish you many happy hours with her. They really are a lovely car if you can afford the petrol! Nice early E-type too! Oh, just love the period satnav |
