In 1938 Bedford first produced this style of lorry and continued production (with a utility front end on it) throughout WW2. Post war the original rounded front was reintroduced.

If you have any more information on this particular O-Series I'd be interested to hear from you, as I'm the first to admit that I am no expert on identifying older vehicles, lorries in particular.
