Autospirit and The National Trust for Scotland announce the launch of a new Major International Heritage Motoring event to be held at one of Scotland's finest locations.

The Culzean Autoclassica will be an annual event and be exclusively aimed at all forms of vehicular transport.

Particular emphasis will be towards top (or significant) marques from the historic, vintage, classic sports, racing and grand touring categories through to modern prestigious sports and performance cars.

It will be not only be an occasion for the owners, clubs and enthusiasts to gather together in a spirit of fun and friendship, but also an opportunity for manufacturers, dealers and the service and lifestyle providers who form part of the auto movement to meet with their clients, both old and new, in superb informal surroundings for mutual enjoyment and benefit.

A planned feature of the Autoclassica will be a nostalgic return of motorsport to the "nearby" old Turnberry airfield track with demonstration runs and possibly a sprint. Scene of major races in the early 50's when famous drivers like Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss and Ken Wharton drove the legendary V16 BRM's, Connaughts and ERA GP cars.

The Culzean Autoclassica will adopt a traditional theme for the event capturing the magnificence and unique ambience of Culzean Castle. Participants will be encouraged to enter into the spirit of the event by dressing in period costume reflecting their particular era of transport. Attending visitors will be encouraged to also arrive in similar state.
