A firm favourite with visitors, clubs, trade and autojumble, the Footman James 28th Bristol Classic Car Show is the traditional opener to the Classic Car season. Founded in 1980 and held for many years in Bristol the show was relocated to the more spacious confines of the Royal Bath & West Showground some 10 years ago. The venue has free car parking and plenty of on-site catering. The show is sponsored by Footman James Insurance Brokers and supported by Classic Motor Monthly and Autojumbler and Classic Car Weekly. The whole show is indoors, with over 250 veteran, vintage and classic cars on display, ranging from turn of the century collectibles to modern classics. Over 70 club stands give the show its renowned friendly, hands-on atmosphere. In addition there is a huge autojumble with over 250 stalls and around 60 trade stands as well as various classic car dealers. Not only is the show a great day out it also gives an early opportunity to search out parts and services required for restoration projects. This year’s special feature is by The Morris Minor Owners Club who won last years best club stand award. Haynes Motor Museum will be exhibiting again, running their special competition for visitors: 3 pairs of lucky winners will receive a chance of a lifetime to ride in one of the museum’s beautiful Ferraris, a guided tour of the Haynes Motor Museum (the largest motoring museum in Britain) followed by lunch; they will be found on stand 30 in the Showering Pavilion.
