A pre-war Stoewer R180 Limousine.
This isn't a car I know much about at all, and it took a while to have it identified! I posted it on the site forum, and it was identified as a Stoewer, probably an R180, or could it be another model also built at this period? The photograph is dated 1933. There was also an R140, built between 1932 and 1934 but that only had a 1.3 or 1.5 litre engine, perhaps a little small for the size of car shown here. The R150 (1934/35) also had a 1.5 litre engine. The R180 had a 1.8 litre unit, and perhaps would be the most likely option as this car looks to be of a reasonable size, note the spare wheel sat on the running board. The company was also known for producing military vehicles. For more information on the Stoewer marque, visit the Stoewer Museum website.
