The Cranes and Jacks. As supplied by Richard C. Gibbings and Co. Ltd.. R.C. Gibbins of Berkley Street in Birmingham could supply the sturdy looking Pilot universal crane & jack as shown here being operated by a gent in the usual cloth cap. Judging by how clean his overalls are he is less of a greasemonkey and more of a hands-off mechanic. The engine crane would lift 7ft up from the ground and pull an engine of upto 30cwt in weight. Thats some lift. Cost was £66 ex works in 1950. |
