Commercial vehicle road runClassic & vintage lorries taking part in the Cheshire Run during April 2005In April 2005 I wandered over to the Midway Truckstop at Prees Heath, nr Whitchurch in Shropshire. This trucker's cafe is the midway stopover point for the Cheshire Run, which is a road run for fans of classic and vintage lorries and other commercial vehicles. There was a good turnout of vehicles, as with previous years' events, although I personally would like to see a few more lighter commercials, similar to the Austin 1000 van and Cambridge-styled A60 that I saw. All the usual favourite makes were in evidence, with classics from ERF, Foden, AEC, Bedford and Leyland rubbing tyres with less often seen wagons such as the mid 1960s Dodge that came up from mid-Shropshire for the event. To see photos taken at similar events, have a look at the main show photos page. You can also download a screensaver featuring heavyweight commercial vehicles here. |
