So does it have vinyl or is it striped cloth/velour seats ?

here it was only the 850, who retained vinyl seats, after 1976.

What badges did he fit, on the A panel ? is it the Blue/Silver Leyland rosette ?

yep its got vinyl not striped, the striped seats appeared about 78/79 over here!!

yes I think those are the ones, like the ones fitted to my green mini, which never had them but I had a pair taken from my clubman estate I had at the time.

hey jens, you'll know whether I ever do meet a shark during summer whilst snorkling, you won't here anymore from me then!!! Laughing

Rick I have been thinking that too lately and if i had any other mini I'd only put 10s on but on the green mini 12s have grown on me and won't be changing them, although I have been pondering getting a set of 12x6 minilights, its got 12x5 right now and the difference that 1 inch makes to the overall look is immense!!

However the postage costs are a bit too much for me!!
Anyone coming to malta for a holiday? Very Happy

Last week I decided to give a service to the 2 minis and proceeded to buy some oil and 2 oil filters!!!
Oil gets more expensive every year!!!!!! Shocked

Well checked when I last changed the oil on the green mini and it was exactly 1 year before on the 3rd february so I drained the old oil (which still looked good and a nice golden colour) and took the filter off, put a new one on and poured the expensive new oil in, gave it a quick clean with autoglym's rapid detailer after a dusting down and put it back in its resting corner and threw the covers on it again.
Then proceeded to change the oil on the blue mini only to find that the last time it received fresh oil was 2 years ago Shocked oops must have forgotten then!!
Well the oil was quite black in fact but it had only done about a 1000 miles in those 2 years so nothing much!
Changed the lot and put it back in storage yet again!!
Next time I'll be changing the oil on the hunter and in a couple of weeks probably the daily will be receiving one too!!

Have not got it yet, have to make room for it first and need someone to help me moving the engines and stuff around!!
Will be done this saturday hopefully and then get the mini next week!!
At least the owner is an understanding chap who is not too bothered about the delay!

Got the mini yesterday.
It was quite uneventful; I took a battery with me, put it in the mini, it started after two or three turns of the key, the clutch was pumped and first gear selected and out it went only to get stuck on the ramp from the garage door to the street!!!
We had to jack it up and move it forward relying on the jack's wheels but it did the trick and it hit the road for the first time in more than a decade!!
However the clutch was not coming back to life after its long slumber and it had to be pumped continously in order to select gears so in the end it was driven to my garage on first gear since the distance was very short, just a couple of minutes drive in quiet roads.
It made it and after some more pumping to select reverse gear it went in my garage to keep on resting there for the time being!!
Here are a couple of pics of it:

Its a bit shabby in some places especially the roof gutter and the first quarter of the sills from the front has been repaired badly just like the roof gutter but its a respectable car as is from a distance Laughing

No idea what I'll do with it but it was so cheap that it would have been rude not to take it on.
Its also a car I remember from when I was a lad as it has belonged to a lady since 1982 (it is a 77 model btw) whom used to garage it near my mum's house and has kept it ever since!
