When I stagger in from a hard days tinkering the in the garage I expect to listen to some good music, or watch a TV programme of a relaxing or informative nature.
Imagine my horror when I was told by the 'Memsahib' (who is a stalwart member of the W.I.) that we were to watch the contestants entering the house on something called "Big Brother". Because it had been reported that a W.I. member was on the list of inmates.
I watched with growing dismay as, after this lady had entered, a procession of 'weirdos' squeaked, pranced, posed and simpered their way into the "Hell-hole" they call the Big Brother "House".
The immortal words of 'Spock', on Star Trek, came to mind; 'It's life Jim; but not as WE know it.
Last night it appears, after suffering unspeakable horrors and privations, the W.I. member "bailed out". Now we can get back to normal and deny that we had ever watched it.

Sorry to hear that you were subjected to such an ordeal, decent folk shouldn't have to come into contact with such inane drivel as this (or indeed any of these fly-on-the-wall / 'talent' shows...) Shocked bit like the soaps, you do have to wonder about the numpties that religiously watch all this tat, day in, day out Confused Rolling Eyes

You probably missed the most eventful race of the last few years!!

Poor site, but news of the results are on here:
http://www.itv-f1.com/Home.aspx

Wasn't impressed that they didn't show the Press Conference on TV either, just because C*r*nation Street Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad was liable to run late if they did, grrrrr

I have only just started watching the Grand Prix again after Barricello was told to let Schumacher pass him and win. This one was all action and the commentators, for once, did not have to struggle to make it sound exciting.
Sincere apologies for mentioning that "Crap Programme" I do understand that most websites visited by people with more than two braincells have banned mention of it and I promise "Never, Never Never"!!! to watch or mention it again.

Whilst an F1 race is marginally better to watch than Big Brother, the real Grand Prix racing at the weekend was at Catalunya....anyone who watched will know exactly what I mean..... Very Happy

Sorry; too cryptic for me, or have I missed something?

I meant the Motorcycle Grand Prix at Catalunya. Absolutely brilliant racing, as usual, not the (totally boring) parade laps that F1 drivers usually do....

The penny just dropped after I had posted. My son is always raving about how much better it is than F1, I will try to watch in future.

I saw the recent race where Rossi won (Catalunya?), quite entertaining and more action than most F1 races, but exciting or interesting F1 races still get my vote for entertainment value Smile just could do with a few more of 'em (excluding bad crashes) !

No, it wasnt Catlunya, Rossi lost there...

If you think that the MotoGP's are good, then watch the 125 /250 races. Who says its not a contact sport... and to see perhaps 9 or 10 riders within a second, swapping places on virtually every corner....real racing!

I guess that the best thing about F1 is the atmosphere at the circuit...when was the last exciting race though? Stirling Moss in Argentina? Laughing

Hi

Just to put a spanner in the works, I prefer a little lessprecision, and a little cruder when it comes to racing, stockcars on ovals and figure of 8's!

So what happened on the grand prix, that was real exciting, will have a look at the link in a min!

Cheers
