hmm that name rings a bell, did he used to rally a long-nose 2 stroke 96?? or am I confusing him with someone else...?

Years ago when I found that 95 van, I went on the hunt for engine parts, and ended up on a farm in Cheshire where a guy kept his 96 rally car (and perhaps a Frogeye too???), I'm sure his name was similar to the one you mentioned, could be someone else I suppose!! I think I may have bought a few bits n bobs from him.

Best ever find was a farm in N Wales where there were rare Saab panels hanging up from the barn walls. I bought a replacement bullnose bonnet for the van, and acquired some other bits in a swap for a NOS front door that I had for a 96/95
