Hi
I can't remember the title, but I have had a book from the library some time ago which had a story about a gale in Milford Haven (could have been a different gale of course) when one Sunderland was saved by the crew being on board started engines and manouevred the aircraft against the wind in the middle of the harbour.

Lovely aircraft and great story.

I remember when on Honeymoon in New Zealand a few years back we visited the Museum of transport and tech (MOTAT), I was allowed to wander round a hanger where a group of volunteers were restoring one of these great aircraft.
