These small Austin vans have some great charm.

I think they are better looking overall than their rival the Morris Minor Van...

And so well built especially if you find an original rust free model like this one.

I have a Morris ( Austin badged ) Van so no bias on my part.

Looks good GF, not tempted to re-instate the van's rear side panels instead of the windows?

Excellent finish, and what a solid car to start with!

Thank you for your comments.

First answer....the colour is County Cream.
This is the original colour of the van.

Second answer....I have another Austin A35 van 1961 which is original with panelled sides.

This van on the other hand was probably converted after a couple of years of purchase to get around the purchase tax at the time.

Having driven both the van and this Countryman style van I prefer the visibility of this one.
That is why we have not panelled the sides in.
We thought about having some sign written panels made to fit the side windows from the inside, this would make it look like a van when in place anyway.

Third answer.....what am I going to do with the van when finished, which will be at the end of this week.?
I am going to sell it to you for a lot of money, so get your cash out from under the mattress. Very Happy

As soon as this is finished I want to give my other van a respray as well.
I am going to perhaps theme it as a Austin Service Van.
They were finished two tone red and silver.

Having seen this lovely van come alive, it suddenly dawned on me today that ive seen one stored under a tarp about a mile or so away from my house! Been there for a few years and was there last week. Gonna do a cheeky call and see what condition its in and if half decent see what rediculous money the owner want for it!
You never know eh

I've a feeling there's a model done in that colour scheme around here somewhere, recently made, perhaps by Vanguards?
